Gina Yates
Gina began her career in broadcasting 12 years ago when she was chosen to be “Danger Girl,” the morning show side-kick on KWJJ-FM in Portland, Oregon. She climbed a bridge, got a tattoo, and even rode a bull live on-air, all in the name of {cough} entertainment. Gina also became the full-time morning show producer, and hosted her own weekend show, which kept her in the studio and off the streets.
In 2000, Gina moved to Los Angeles, and has produced several talk shows for Clear Channel Communications over the past ten years. She currently works with Tim Conway Jr. on KFI AM 640, America's most listened to talk station.
Gina is an active member of the L.A. theatre scene. Her first love is acting, and you can often find her on a black box stage. Her credits include Lois in Wonder of the World, Rita in Uncommon Women and Others, Joan in Sexual Perversity in Chicago, Speed in Two Gentlemen of Verona, Teresa in The Memory of Water, and most recently she starred in the world premiere of Dupe at the Two Roads Theatre in Studio City. One of her favorite experiences, however, took place behind the scenes, when she directed a production of Hamlet in 2007. Gina has a double Bachelor of Arts degree in Theater Arts and Psychology from Portland State University, and is a long-time student at the famed Howard Fine Acting Studio in Hollywood.
An avid fan of the TV show Law & Order, Gina keeps busy trying to woo creator Dick Wolf via her blog, Dear Dick Wolf. (Well, sort-of. Blogging is exhausting, you know.) All she wants in the world is to be on his show. If you can help her make that happen, she’ll cook steak for you.
LAGenX marks Gina’s long overdue return to the microphone. Or so she’s told.
She can also say the alphabet backwards.
