Curt Smith and Tears for Fears featured on BACKSTORY

Los Angeles, CA – March 9, 2010

This Saturday, March 13^th, Los Angeles Internet radio show LAGenX welcomes Curt Smith in-studio for BACKSTORY, a behind-the-scenes look at the lives and careers of some of the music industry’s most beloved artists.

Smith co-founded the legendary duo Tears for Fears in 1981 with musical partner Roland Orzabal. Smith provided vocals for some of the band’s most renowned hits, including Mad World, and the chart-topping single Everybody Wants to Rule the World. He continues to tour with Orzabal, and has also embarked on a solo career. Smith’s most recent album, Halfway, pleased, is a semi-autobiographical project that explores the musician’s relationships with the people closest to him. His latest single, All Is Love, featuring cellist and composer Zoë Keating, was released in January via his KOOK Media Label. Smith is playing a solo show at Los Angeles' Largo on March 23, after which he and Orzabal will be hitting the road again as Tears for Fears.

LAGenX Radio Launches New BACKSTORY Feature
 
Los Angeles, CA – February 9, 2010 – This Saturday, Los Angeles radio show LAGenX launches BACKSTORY, featuring music legend Billy Vera.

BACKSTORY is a behind-the-scenes look at the lives and careers of some of the music industry’s most beloved artists. Billy Vera began singing and making music professionally in 1962, as a member of The Resolutions. He’s written countless songs for artists such as Dolly Parton, Fats Domino, Ricky Nelson, Bonnie Raitt and Etta James. In 1986, Vera and his band The Beaters had a number one hit with the song At This Moment, which shot to fame after it was featured in an episode of the TV show Family Ties. He’s composed theme songs for TV shows such as Empty Nest and King of Queens. Vera is also a top voice over artist, and continues to play his Rock, Blues, and crowd-pleasin' music at restaurants and clubs throughout Los Angeles.

Vera will join LAGenX hosts Jason Burns, Gina Yates and Jeff Phillips in-studio on Saturday, February 13th for the launch of BACKSTORY, the show’s new monthly feature. 11 A.M. Pacific, 2 P.M. Eastern.
